Krishna Rhythms in Kathak

Event description: Dance as we know it, often changes the way people see the world and experience their life with it. We love to dance and we are very excited to have our students presenting before you a Kathak repertoire. The performances encompass technical, expressive and narrative dance revolving around Krishna and Radha. Krishna was the 8th Avatar of Lord Vishnu ( one the 3 principal deities of Hindu Gods Brahma Vishnu and Mahesh) and Radha is his female consort. Krishna and Radha interactions are full of playfulness and loving charm.
Students Simonne Kulkarni and Charvy Thakkar bring together the Krishna rhythms in Kathak. Simonne is a 9th grader and has been learning kathak for the last 5 years. Charvy is a 6 th grader with 4 years of dance training.
About the Teacher Surabhi Pant – Kathak dancer and dance instructor
Trained in Lucknow Gharana of Kathak under renowned Kathak Gurus of the city of Lucknow, Certified Kathak dancer with formal training in kathak. Six years of experience as certified Kathak dance instructor and examiner for certification courses of Kathak. Choreographer in annual shows and cultural festivals. Passionate for dancing and teaching dance.
