Swarasetu is the brainchild of Sitar Maestro Shakir Khan and his father Padmashree Ustad Shahid Parvez. It aims to create an environment that will help spread music to the masses, maintaining and nurturing the values of Indian Classical Music.
We are happy to bring to you a series of monthly recitals by our talented students who have been learning for multiple years and pursuing their musical passion under the tutelage of Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan and Shri Shakir Khan in a traditional gurukul system.
This event will showcase Umang Tadphale, He is a disciple of Padmashree Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan and Shree Shakir Khan. He has been pursuing Sitar since the age of 9. He has performed at some regional Music Festivals (Mukula Festival, Vasudev Hari Sangeet Mahotsav, etc.). Umang will be accompanied by his brother Aarya Tadphale, who is also a disciple of Padmashree Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan and Shree Shakir Khan. Accompanying Umang on Tabla is Shantanu Deshmukh, tabla player of Indian Classical Music genre from Pune , Maharastra, India. He has received his taalim in Benaras Gharana, and is currently learning in Farukhabad Gharana.
