What to expect from the Trial Class:
- Does the child enjoy the class?
- Does the child like to come back to class?
- Do the parents like what they see?
- A word of advice for parents new to classical dance and music,
- Like any classical art form, the first few years may be the most challenging and dry. I advise parents to work with their children and be persistent.
- It is more than an art form. It needs skill, precision, strength, and discipline.
- Our holistic training will sometimes include activities that may not appear connected to the traditional ways of teaching.
- Our training includes six levels. Each child is different and progresses through the level at different rates.
- Parents are advised not to compare their child’s progress and interest with the other kids.
What not to expect in the Trial Class
- Course content. This will be shared upon enrollment. There is a snapshot of what one can expect on the office door.
- Ability to pick up material in the first month. Most kids need time to grasp and this is normal.
Class Timings:
Wednesdays 6:30 pm-7:30 pm- Kids class. Adults are welcome to try this class. They will have a separate category.
- Each class is typically offered once a week and lasts about 50 minutes.
- This may change as the child progresses through the levels.
- We highly recommend that the child engages in the school's activities, as learning is a holistic process.
Location: 9076 Cox Road, West Chester, OH 45069 (Opposite Swagath Restaurant, in the same strip mall as the Dairy Queen)
In-person/Hybrid: Currently in-person. Will follow CDC guidelines
Dance Bag: Every student is encouraged to have a dance bag with the following content:
- Black tights, A sleeved T-shirt/Kurta/Kurti.

- A three-ring binder with a pencil pouch with pencils, erasers, pens, a protractor, and ten sheets of plain/single ruled paper.
- A water bottle with fresh water.
- Healthy Snacks of their choice that are easy to eat and high in protein and salt.
Recital: The school will have one annual recital, barring unforeseen circumstances. At this level, the children will participate in group choreography.
Summer Camp: We offer four-week summer camps in June. This complements the material taught in the class and includes storytelling, creative art, and language art using Indian themes and material.
Workshops: We try to offer one rhythm workshop with visiting artists during the summer. This introduced the concepts necessary for Indian performing arts.
Performances: NSPA produces one or two programs annually. Based on the level, the group may perform in one such event. Kids are encouraged to perform in local programs hosted by organizations and temples.
Spiritwear: All children must wear the NSPA logo kurta for formal workshops, rehearsals, and field trips.
An NGO makes the kurta of artisans in Rajasthan, India, that rehabilitates victims of domestic abuse and sex trafficking, empowering women by helping them learn vocational skills and providing them a means to earn a livelihood.
