Please join us for a mixer from 6:30 pm-7 pm and enjoy light snacks and Chai (Indian Tea) Introductory lecture by Dr. Kanniks Knnikeswaran on 'contextualizing the classical Indian music tradition in the United States' This will be followed by the main feature presentation of the evening. Vidushi Shalmalee Joshi will be accompanied on the Tabla by her son Tejovrush Joshi and on the Harmonium by Srivatsan Iyer There will be a brief intermission between 8 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.
Nrityaarapana School Of Indian Classical Dance
Nrityarpana (NSPA) was founded in 2004 by Anupama (Anupa) Mirle. Anupa is trained in Bharatanatyam (MFA). Odissi (Prayag Sangeet Parishad). NSPA, is a non-profit arts organization that has nurtured and honed the talents of over 300 students in classical dance. It has brought Indian arts to more than 50,000 people in different parts of the country. NSPA's mission is to bring extraordinary experiences to the ordinary, and through two platforms, Indian Rhythms, and World Dance Cincinnati where artists give back to the local community through the arts.
